The Home Again campaign launched recently with significant momentum, highlighted by a $5 million gift from the Boston-based Frieze Family Foundation to establish the Frieze Center for Shared Society at the University. The Center will unite Jewish and Arab residents through research, education, and community programs, addressing one of northern Israel’s greatest challenges: rebuilding trust. Its work will stand as a model for coexistence and renewal. Haifa Alumni Assume IDF Leadership Roles

The University of Haifa proudly celebrates five alumni appointed to senior IDF General Staff positions, highlighting the University’s role in shaping Israel’s security leadership. The appointments include:
Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo
(Northern Command),
Maj. Gen. Dan Goldfus (Depth Corps),
Maj. Gen. Hidai Zilberman
(Planning),
Maj. Gen. Rami Abudraham (Technological & Logistics), and

Student Receives Presidential Scholarship

Ophir Netzer, a doctoral student at University of Haifa’s School of Psychological Sciences, has been awarded the prestigious President of Israel’s Scholarship for Excellence and Scientific Innovation – one of only twelve awarded nationwide. Under Prof. Roy Salomon, Netzer studies the psychological and neural mechanisms of trauma under substances like cannabis and MDMA, focusing on survivors of the October 7 Nova Festival attack. Her groundbreaking research addresses critical gaps in understanding trauma processing and may inform innovative approaches to complex trauma therapy.
